What is the Gonstead Technique?
At Reformation Chiropractic, we use a system called Gonstead Chiropractic, a technique known around the world for its precision, specificity, and deep respect for the nervous system.
This is not a quick twist or general crack. Gonstead care is designed to find the exact areas of stress in the spine that are interfering with your nervous system, and correct them with care that is tailored to your body, your scans, and your structure.
When you are caring for a developing baby, a pregnant mom, or a child whose nervous system is still wiring and adapting to the world, the stakes are too high for guesswork.
The Gonstead System is one of the most thorough approaches in all of chiropractic. Every adjustment is based on a full analysis using multiple tools, including:
- Instrumentation: We use a Nervoscope to measure temperature differences along the spine, a sign of inflammation and nerve pressure.
- Static and Motion Palpation: We feel the spine both at rest and through movement to identify fixations and misalignments.
- Visualization: We look for postural changes, swelling, and subtle shifts that reveal where the body is compensating.
- X ray Analysis: When needed, we take full spine digital X rays to evaluate structure, disc health, and alignment with high accuracy.
- Neurological Insight Scans: Using NASA published CLA technology, we measure how much stress is on your nervous system and how well your body is adapting to it.
Each of these steps helps us find the exact segment of the spine that needs to be corrected, no more, no less. That means no unnecessary twisting, popping, or adjusting areas that do not need it.
Your spine protects your nervous system, the master control center for everything in your body. When there is a misalignment, called a subluxation, it creates interference between your brain and your body.
That interference does not just cause pain. It can disrupt:
- Sleep
- Digestion
- Immune function
- Mood and behavior
- Development and learning
- Labor and delivery
- Growth and healing
This is especially important in newborns, children, and pregnant moms. Their nervous systems are developing, adapting, and changing every single day. A subluxation left uncorrected does not just cause a moment of stress, it can influence long term function, development, and resilience.
That is why we take our time. We test, we measure, and we adjust only what needs to be adjusted.
People are often surprised at how gentle a Gonstead adjustment can be, especially for babies. It is not about force, it is about accuracy.
When the right area is corrected, the nervous system can do what it was designed to do, adapt, grow, and heal.
We are proud to be one of the few offices in Florida that uses the Gonstead system exclusively, because we believe your family deserves the best.
Whether we are adjusting a 7 pound newborn or a 37 week mom preparing for birth, we approach each spine with the same care, attention, and respect.
This is not about temporary relief. It is about building long term health from the inside out.
